Mount
Snow was the first Vermont ski area to promote mountain biking, and is known as
the area's 'Mountain Bike Capital'. For a modest fee you can access Mt.
Snow's 3,556-foot summit via chairlift.
Set
in the Green Mountain National Forest, Mount Snow offers 45 miles of mountain
bike terrain consisting of single-track, old town roads and ski trails that
challenge all ages and abilities of riders in a classic Vermont setting. The
Main Base Area is the hub for mountain bike operations and services. The
Crosstown area, located 1 1/2 miles from the Mount Snow Base area, provides the
family or new rider with a comfortable introduction to the sport. The terrain
difficulty includes 15% beginner, 50% intermediate and 35% advanced. Check out the new Bike Trail System Map!
Mt.
Snow also offers a Mountain Biking School. Since 1988, the Mount Snow Mountain
Bike School has been sharpening the skills of all levels of riders and
introducing new riders to the sport. The school's mountain bike pros work with
guests to explore new terrain and backwoods beauty while gaining general
conditioning and technical skills. Instruction also includes tips on safety and
trailside repairs on a bike. Private and group clinics are available, as well
as learn-to-ride clinics, guided tours, women's clinics and junior clinics.
